2025 ROO RUN

The Roo Run returns bigger and better than ever in 2025 on the 27th December. From humble beginnings to a "bucket list" Summer event the Roo Run has grown up and this year celebrates its 12th year. Family, Fun and Community are still at the heart of our event and we hope this year will be our biggest yet.

So whether you’re a seasoned campaigner, a weekend jogger, social walker or just starting out your running career, the Soulful Living 8km Roo Run, Discovery Camp 4km Roo Run and the Anglesea Medical Centre Grommets Gallop offers something for everyone in one of the most scenic locations you could imagine.

This year with the help of the Anglesea Medical Centre we are also continuing the Janet Jones Classic (an all abilities event) to be run in conjunction with the Grommets Gallop. The event has grown out of the participation of the Starfish Nippers Run who are now encouraging more all abilities participants to join them on the run.

EVENT DETAILS

The Soulful Living 8km Roo Run - Our main individual event for both elite runners and those runners fit enough to strive for that 8km PB!
The Anglesea Discovery Camp 4km Roo Run - Not to be underestimated, the 4km run takes in the beautiful scenery along this amazing course.
The A-Z Plumbing 2XRoo - This is an individual entry where participants will enter and participate in both the 4km and 8km Roo Run. The winner will be the entrant who records the best combined time.

The Go Ride a Wave Surf n Turf - The ultimate challenge. Can runners swim? Can swimmers run? In conjunction with the Anglesea Surf Life Saving Club this event combines the best male and female times over the 8km Roo Run and the 1.2km Rock 2 Ramp Swim. Enter each event separately to be part of this event.
Family entrants will be automatically entered in the Anglesea and Community Bank Surf Coast Community Cup as a special Category in the 4km event where we will select the family that completes their event and best represents the spirit of the Roo Run.

The Anglesea Medical Centre Grommets Gallop - Just for the U12's a 1.6km Beach Gallop from Boat Ramp to The Point and back, looping around the start of the Coastal Walk to finish at the AMYC boat ramp. YeeHaa!
Who knows - this could be the first race of the next Cathy Freeman! Even if it's not, every kid wins a prize to add to the fun and encourage them on the healthy pastime of running. Starfish Nippers with their carers are entering again this year and we look forward to welcoming them in our NEW EVENT the Anglesea Medical Centre Janet Jones Classic for athletes of all abilities.
The Rusty Anchor Bar - Back for the Summer, the Rusty Anchor Bar is open right after the Roo Run! Come and join us for an ice-cold refreshment after the race and enjoy the best view and the cheapest drinks in town.
