Welcome Back
After a year off we have decided to once again hold the Roo Run in 2021. The event may not look like previous years, but we wanted to do something to welcome everyone back to the Surf Coast and Anglesea.
We will be running under a Covid Safe Plan and due to the late notice to allow the event to proceed we will not be able to provide T-shirts or race packs this year - hopefully we'll make it up to you next year.
So whether you’re a seasoned campaigner, a weekend jogger, social walker or just starting out your running career, the Roo Run and Anglesea and District Community Bank Grommet Gallop and Starfish Nippers run offers something for everyone in one of the most scenic locations you could imagine.

![]() Great Ocean Road Real Estate is proud to support the Roo Run and AMYC
Great Ocean Road Real Estate is proud to have been a long supporting sponsor of the Anglesea Motor Yacht Club (AMYC) located just behind the boat ramp at Point Roadknight Beach. We love being part of likeminded local community organisations such as the AMYC, they are the true essence of Anglesea and the Point Roadknight area. The AMYC motto of ‘A Great History, Great location, Great people’ is very much in-line with our own company ethos of ‘Our Backyard-Great Knowledge, Great Advice, Great Results’ it’s no wonder our partnership works so well. For those of you who are already members of the AMYC it will be no surprise that after many hard years of planning and approvals the original 1960’s AMYC club house is currently being extensively renovated and extended. The building is nearing completion and Wes Smith AMYC Commodore/President was kind enough to show me through what is going to be an amazing new facility for the Anglesea community. As Wes says:- “From the outset our objective has been to maintain the ‘quaintness’ of the building and to enhance the existing ‘look and feel’ of the building. Internally we will have vastly improved kitchen facilities, new bar area, toilets upstairs and a lift, as well as an upgrade of the downstairs showers and increased storage space for our rescue boat and other summer services (Life Saving Patrol base)”. After viewing the building for myself I think that’s exactly what has been achieved. The coastline views from the Rusty Anchor bar upstairs are as dramatic a sea view you’re likely to find anywhere in the world. You can check out the progress of the upgrade on this link https://littlesnitch.io/001/ The club house due for completion this Christmas with the famous Rusty Anchor Bar back in full swing this summer. If you’d like to become a member feel free to peruse the AMYC website and register your interest at https://www.amyc.net.au You’ll be glad you did. See you all at the ROO RUN on the 27th December. |
